So, if I was thinking of going flying one day this weekend, (and I am), that day would be… Saturday.
Enough headroom to actually take a launch, that’s a good start, and 15WSW means the ridge should work. There is a shower risk, but I judge that risk to be small.
Most of this information comes from the Tephi/SkewT diagrams for the day. I realise for some that these are a bit of an acquired taste, but they are well worth getting grips with. If there’s time and any demand, I’ll give a little Numpties Briefing on the subject (one that concentrates on the line patterns and keeps dew points, environmental and unsaturated adiabatic lapse rates firmly out of the conversation!)
